Could I become an actress?

This may be a little long, but, anyways, I really want to become an actress. I am 13 years old, and a lot people have told me that I was pretty and I should model or something to that extent. But I really enjoy acting. I'd like to be on Disney channel...eventually...lol. But anyways, the first play I was ever in, I got the main role of Peter Pan (yes, I had to be a boy! lol) And I was in a talent show and I got 2nd place (singing), I'm a cheerleader, and I am in Gifted Drama at my school (it is a program for students who are gifted in..well...acting !) So basically, what I am getting at is that I am very comfortable around crowds, and not afraid to put myself out there. I live in Louisiana. And I really want to become an actress but I don't know where to start! Please help me ! Best advice gets 10 points!!!!
