Why do atheists make fun of Jesus if He isn't real?

Don't say they don't. They do it all the time. Do they make fun of Him because they hate Him and what He stands for? Does that mean He is real and they are suppressing the truth? People would only criticize someone constantly if they existed and were some sort of threat to them. No one constantly makes fun of santa or frosty. What is the reason?
